951 (Elephant Series)
INSTALLATION SCULPTURE, 2012
A large-scale sculptural installation constructed from military parachute, wood, bamboo, and hand-formed elements, exploring themes of protection, fragility, and environmental tension. The piece combines soft and rigid materials to create a full-bodied form that feels both monumental and vulnerable.
The work received the Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award from the International Sculpture Center and was exhibited nationally, including at Grounds For Sculpturee and the Bellevue Arts Museum. It was also featured in the Center’s annual award publication.
These works reflect a foundation in sculpture and spatial design, exploring structure, material, and narrative at a larger scale. This background continues to inform how installations are approached today, with an emphasis on environment, composition, and immersive experience.
Piñata Diorama Series
THESIS / INSTALLATION SCULPTURES, 2013
A series of sculptural dioramas combining hand-built forms, surface treatment, and narrative composition to explore themes of identity, tension, and cultural symbolism. Each piece balances playfulness with underlying structure, using material and form to create layered visual storytelling.
Developed as part of a Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis, the work reflects an early exploration of immersive composition and detailed environmental storytelling, elements that continue to inform installation work today.
