Hire trained dealers for authenticity or assign friends dressed in sleek black-and-white. My husband happened to want to be dealer, but if you don’t have a built-in dealer at home, I would highly recommend hiring the professional.
Use real-feel poker chips and elegant playing cards.
I can’t recommend a card shuffler enough. They tend to be in the $10-20 range and they save you or your dealer loads of time which means more fun and game play.

- Spa Basket: A gift card to Cascada Spa in Portland, a loofah, Turkish towel, luxury toiletries like 24-karat gold eye masks, bath bombs, and specialty snacks.
- Golf Basket: A gift card to an indoor putt-putt and golf simulation bar, magnetic golf towel, golf balls, and other high-end golf accessories.
Each guest went home with a bag marked with a large money symbol. Inside: actual scratch-off tickets (someone won $25!), stress ball dice, 100 Grand and Payday candy bars, light-up shot glasses, card-shaped metal bottle openers, and koozies featuring fun pop culture from the year my husband was born.
Knowing we’d have leftovers, we provided containers for guests to take home extra food and treats for themselves or loved ones.
We even added a playful nod to the casino aesthetic with edible “cigarettes”—pretzel sticks dipped in white chocolate and dusted with crushed Oreos for “ash” and red sugar crystals for a glowing ember effect. Plated on sleek black trays, they made guests do a double take and sparked so many conversations (and photos!).
